HDMI - High - Definition Multimedia Interface

Using an HDMI to RJ45 converter allows the sending of HDMI signals through the use of ethernet cables with RJ45 terminations by converting the HDMI signal into a digitized form which can be sent over an ethernet network. This type of converter is useful in situations where long distance transmission is needed, since HDMI signals can be directly transmitted over an ethernet infrastructure. Incorporating HDMI based AV systems into network-based signal distribution is common with commercial AV installations, digital signage, and in some cases, home theaters where signals are needed to be transmitted over long distances.
