FTTH Technology
FTTH Technology
FTTH (Fiber To The Home) is a broadband access technology to lay fiber optics directly to the home or business, replacing traditional copper cables (e.g., ADSL, coaxial cables) as the cornerstone of modern high-speed communication networks.
The FTTH network consists of three parts: the office room equipment (OLT), the user terminal equipment (ONT) and the optical distribution network (ODN).
In FTTH construction, fiber optic communication technology plays a key role. Fiber optic communication uses light wave as carrier and optical fiber as transmission medium, which has the advantages of wide transmission bandwidth, strong anti-interference and small signal attenuation, which makes optical fiber an ideal transmission medium.
